Sir,
My report of last Monday there has been published, by order of His Excellency The Governor, a Notification on the subject of the recreation of the Licensed Brothels confined to certain persons operating in assigned Houses in fixed localities, and of the present intention of the Executive to use all possible means to suppress Gambling in every shape and form.
I enclose a copy of the Notification which has been very extensively circulated, and I have good reason to believe that the effect of its publication has been very satisfactory. I refer more especially to that passage which reminds House-holders that under certain circumstances they are responsible for the payment of fine inflicted on persons found guilty of being in a house for the purpose of playing.
